7 Things to Bring With You on Your First Day

Don’t know what to bring with you on your first day at your internship? Need a list of things to bring with you?

Don’t you worry, I have all the things you need in one blog! (Trust me on this one!)

1. Good Attitude!

This is a new environment for you and it’s also a good opportunity for you to learn new things!

You need to make the most of it while you can. You should never go into your internship with a bad

attitude because if you have a bad attitude, then you make everyone else feel down and become negative.

Being happy and having a positive attitude will make it much easier for you to connect with your co-workers.

2. Notebooks, Pens and Pencils, OH MY!

On your first day you usually are just getting the run down of the place and how they operate.

Just come prepared with a notebook and a pen and stay organized! Your boss will most likely be

explaining the ins and outs of your work place and what you will be doing for the rest of your time at

the office. You always want to write down everything you can!

3. A Watch

You want to keep an eye out on the clock to make sure you know what time it is. You need to keep track

of what time it is so that you know when to go to a meeting or meet a deadline etc. I know all of us have cell

phones and computers and you think you can just look at the time on them, but you will not always be near a

computer or have your phone, also some companies will not allow you to have your phone out, so go with the safe option of a watch.

4. Willingness to Learn

Always come with the willingness to learn something new. Having an internship is meant for you to gain

experience and achieve new skills. Don’t be afraid to learn new things and to challenge yourself with new projects.

Your boss or your co-workers are there to help you learn these new things, don’t be afraid to ask any questions.

It’s all new to you so they understand.

5. Water Bottle

You will always need to stay hydrated and drink lots of water throughout the day. That’s what keep you going.

I recommend a reusable water bottle that keeps your water cold for 12 hours! I promise you, they are worth every penny!

6. Reliable Bag

It doesn’t matter what kind of bag it is, whether it’s a handbag, a tote, or even a backpack, you want something

reliable that will hold everything you need.

7. An Open Mind

Always come into the office with an open mind. Never say no to things they ask you to do. It could be a great

learning experience for you to have an open mind to different things.
