Teach Learn PhilosophyThe Teach Learn Philosophy is a key component of the SWP culture and operations. SWP believes that every question poses an opportunity for someone to teach and someone else to learn. Students are encouraged to ask questions freely and openly. Students are also provided with opportunities to teach others what they have learned, further enforcing their own knowledge and growth.
School Comes FirstSWP encourages students enrolled to value school education as their top priority. Students enrolled with SWP create their own schedules to work around their classes, exams, and student activities.

HistoryThe vision for the program began in 1982 when the Founder, Daniel Ruotolo, was a junior in college. Dan took the initiative to approach accounting firms in his area and explained to them that although he had no experience, he was a hard worker and quick learner looking for real world experience in accounting.

To obtain nonprofit status, SWP has merged with a former nonprofit organization: Clique In. Clique In was an organization concentrated on anti-bullying initiatives.
SWP and Clique-In now function harmoniously as a single organization, with the single mission to transform the students of today into the stars of tomorrow who will evolve into the socially conscious leaders of the future. We do this through our unique and proven SWP model to positively impact the lives of students and parents who will add value to businesses, schools and our community.
Restoring the American Dream for Our YouthImagine a world where students could go to college and graduate completely debt-free, with some additional money saved up, and 6 years worth of real-world practical work experience. Through Student Working Professionals, this scenario is a reality. To us, the American Dream means rewarding individuals for doing what they need to do in order to pursue their desired career path. The American Dream means that when you go to school, get your degree, have an internship or other relevant experience you are then more than qualified to get a job and consequently a job offer (or multiple!). However, in today’s economy, that has not been the case for some time. Student Working Professionals is succeeding in bringing back that dream for our youth. The dream that if you do everything you can to become a competitive applicant that your hard work pays off in the form of a job offer.
